The wonderful Basildon Sporting Village hosted the Essex Legacy Games, celebrating a year since the legendary 2012 Olympics.

Colchester Carnival

The 2013 Colchester Carnival took place in Castle Park. It was a fantastic day out with the opportunity to take part in/hear/see lots of exciting things!
Jaymini will performed a Bharatanatyam fusion dance, and held a short-and-sweet Bollywood Dance Workshop on Hollytrees Lawn between 1pm - 1.30pm.

SV150 Workshops And Opening Ceremony

Colchester proudly hosted the nationally touring SV150 Exhibitionfrom 26th-30th June 2013. The exhibition celebrates the roots and diverse influences of Hinduism, as well as the life of Swami Vivekananda - an inspiring figure who was key in exposing Hinduism to the Western World.
Jaymini was involved in guiding year 9 pupils from the Colchester Royal Grammar School around the exhibition and providing an interactive workshop, to give pupils a taste of the exciting Indian culture.
On the opening night, Jaymini performed a Bharatanatyam dance and gave a talk about Hindu Culture and Values. The talk was well-received by the audience, which included members of the public, local business people, and the Mayor and Mayoress of Colchester.

Hall Mead School Bollywood Day

Jaymini joined other arts practitioners in holding interactive workshops for year 8 pupils at Hall Mead School as part of their Bollywood Day.
Jaymini taught Bollywood Dance in five high-energy workshops. Students loved busting their Bollywood Moves and becoming Bollywood Stars!

It was a (slightly cold but) fun day dancing at Castle Park on the day of the cycle race. The kids enjoyed dressing up in Indian clothes and everybody kept warm with some energetic Bollywood steps!

The Bollywood Dance taster session at St Johns and Highwoods Community Centre was a success! There was a great turn-out and people of all ages enjoyed bopping to Bollywood beats. Fantastic!
